Back in the ’90s, there was no question as to whether a masters in business administration ( MBA ) was worth the investment. The sticker price of your typical two-year program was substantially lower, graduates were fewer, and it was seen as the gilded passport to a quick climb up the career ladder and a six-figure salary. Now, however, the cost is prohibitive, and the recent abundance of MBA grads has led some to argue that the luster of the degree has been tarnished by oversupply. So what is the ROI of an MBA , and is it still worth it? How much will it cost vs. how much will I make? Even with financial aid, any masters program is going to put a significant dent in your bank account and will likely saddle you with debt for years after you leave campus. But costs vary wildly by school, and there are still some respected programs out there that are much more affordable than others (plus, some of the more generous financial aid can cover about half of the tuition fees). For example, University of Chicago’s MBA program costs over $150,000 (not including accommodation and other living costs), but according to Bloomberg ‘s most recent roundup, graduates make an average of $102,000 per year when they get out. At Harvard, tuition and fees come to about $112,000, and graduates end up making $110,000 on average, while the less well-known Brigham Young University (Utah) MBA program costs just $41,120 (half that if you’re Mormon, by the way) and earns graduates an average of $88,550 per annum on graduation. If you’re worried about loans, it’s worth considering that part-time MBAs may offer a better return on investment. Part-time students can usually work at the same time, paying their own way (or obtaining sponsorship from their companies) rather than taking out crippling loans. Hard numbers and value for money It’s a sad fact that although you may be trailing the pack without one, the value of a masters degree in general is a fraction of what it was in the past — less than $400,000 over 30 years (with no financial aid) according to Bloomberg . The drop can be attributed to lower bonuses, recent grads opting for lower-paying positions in a stalled job market, and previously high-earning employees laid off and working lower-paying jobs. Choose wisely, though, and you’ll be making the best investment of your life. For example, a low-cost school with a high rate of return could have you looking at a 30-year ROI of more than $1.8 million (at the California Institute of Technology, for example). For the best ROI on an MBA, however, the hard numbers say heading abroad is your best bet. At the top of the list, the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, costs around $150,000 for the full MBA program, but graduates earn a whopping $96,500 per year in increased salary, so the degree cost is recouped in less than two years. The same can be said for the Cranfield School of Management, Manchester Business School and Cambridge in the UK, which all offer MBA degrees resulting in a $50,000 pay increase after graduation, meaning total costs are recouped in three years. Other smart investments abroad include IESE in Barcelona, HEC in Paris and IMD business school in Switzerland (courses taught in English). More on the ROI of an MBA, next…

It is very expensive these days to get in to a medical school. All of them who are planning to get in to a medical school should plan for the expenses associated with this. If you cannot afford all the expenses then you can always apply for Medical School Loans. These loans are designed to help you when you want to pursue your studies in a medical school. Many of lucky students get scholarships and grants and this money is not supposed to be paid. But for those who are not getting any grants they can always apply for these loans.

Medical School Loans can finance all the expenses associated with your studies. If you agree to serve under for two to four years in an underserved area of the country then the entire tuition fee will be paid by the government. This provision comes under the government program know as US health service corp. you are supposed to serve rural and impoverished areas of the country.

One can easily study without thinking much about the money. Military branches also offer fee assistance under their tuition program. For availing this you need to agree to serve a number of years in exchange for them paying for your fees. The period you will serve will depend on the program and the money needed for that. So it is very easy to complete your studies through this government organization. You can also take students loans for which you have to pay the money back after completing your education. You need to have a job right after completing your education. This is because the repayment term starts just after completion of your education. So if you are looking for a financial assistance for completing your education then you can apply for these loans.

If you are having cannot go to college because you lack funds, you should not lose hope, there are a lot of financial aids for school that you can acquire easily. Having funds for school is very easy, especially if you are willing to pursue your studies. Whether you are out of school for years, or are currently enrolled, you can definitely have the money you need for your school easily.

There are several options that you can take, which will help you continue your studies. You can have a school loan, a work-study program, and scholarship programs. The most popular among these choices is the school loan. This option will allow you to loan a particular amount of money to be used for school. These loans generally have low interest rates and are affordable for students like you. The only problem that you have to deal with is the pressure of being under a lot of debt.

There are people who do not want to go through the troubles of being pressured with a lot of debt. If you are one of these people, then you can also continue to pursue your studies by taking study-work programs. This will allow you to get tuition discounts while working for the school. This type of program is preferred by a lot of people, but the problem is there are only a few slots open for this program.

Study-work programs follow the “first come first serve” rule, and the earlier you sign-up for the program the higher your chances of getting hired by the school. If you want to continue studying without the hassle of being in a lot of debt, you need to apply for this program as early as you can. The problem with this option is the added pressure on your side, because you need to work while studying, giving you less time to focus on your lessons.

If the two options above do not apply for you, then you can also continue schooling with the help of foundations and people who are offering scholarship programs. Looking for scholarship is very easy, because there are different organizations, foundations, and businesses that are willing to provide money for your school.

You can approach local businesses and organizations and ask them if they can help you with your studies. The Internet is also a good place to look for scholarships and grants that are available to students like you. You can also join competitions that are giving away free school funds as a reward.

Some community college presidents in North Carolina are banding together against a new law that could make low-interest federal loans an option to nearly 200,000 students, fearing they could lose all financial aid if too many students don’t repay.

Some community college officials want to reverse the law that beginning in July would force all 58 campuses to participate in the loan program. Thirty-eight schools don’t participate now, including campuses in major cities such as Durham, Winston-Salem and Charlotte.

The law passed last year determined the third-largest community college system in the country should make every financial aid option available as the recession sent students – many of them unable to find work in their chosen fields – cramming into classrooms to revamp or hone skills. But some legislators want to allow each campus to continue deciding for itself.
